Trading a Post Oak condo for a Briargrove ranch house, or a Tanglewood home for a lock-and-leave tower? Our local crews handle short Uptown moves and cross-town Houston moves at an hourly rate.
Short moves, done right
Neighborhood by neighborhood
A local move around The Galleria rarely means just one kind of building. North of Westheimer, Tanglewood has large homes on generous lots under mature oaks, while Briarcroft and Larchmont lean toward 1950s ranch houses. South of Westheimer in 77057, Briargrove and Westhaven Estates mix single-story homes, patio homes and townhomes. Each one calls for a different truck position, crew size and walk path, and we work that out during the estimate.
Townhome communities in the area, many built from the 1970s onward and newer ones rising three stories, usually have a homeowners association. Some are gated, and some limit where a truck can park or how long it can sit in a shared drive. Tell us the community name and we will plan around its gate codes and parking rules. Three-story townhomes also mean narrow stairs, so we pad railings and measure large pieces before move day.
Many local moves here are short hops, for example from an Uptown apartment to a house a few streets away in St. George Place, or out to Memorial, River Oaks or West University. Because local moves are billed hourly, the shortest route and a ready building make the biggest difference. Our crews arrive early, wrap and pad furniture on site, and place every item where you want it before the final walkthrough.
FAQ's
Answers for people planning a local move in or around The Galleria.
Yes. Townhomes and patio homes are a big part of the local moves we do south of Westheimer. We ask about HOA parking limits, gate access and stair layouts during the estimate so the crew size and truck fit the property. Three-story layouts are common, and stairs are not billed as an extra.
Local moves are hourly, so you pay for the actual time worked. To reserve the date we take a deposit equal to the two-hour minimum, and it is fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead. There are no hidden fees, and payment is collected after the final walkthrough.
Yes. Moves between Uptown and nearby neighborhoods such as River Oaks, West University, Memorial and Bellaire are standard local jobs for our crews. The same team loads and unloads, and we reassemble your furniture at the new house as part of the service.
We offer storage overnight, for a week, or month-to-month. Your belongings stay with us until the new place is ready, then we deliver and set up. Just tell us both dates when you request the estimate so we can plan the gap.
Yes. Houston rain is normal, and our crews use floor protectors, shrink-wrap and waterproof pads to keep furniture dry. We only reschedule for unsafe conditions such as thunderstorms or hurricane warnings, and there is no fee for that.
Thank you for considering us for local move needs. We will get back to you during normal business hours.
