West U sits between Rice University and the Texas Medical Center, so plenty of residents arrive from or leave for other states on academic and medical timelines. Our interstate crews keep those moves on one truck with one team.

Arrivals and departures
West University Place takes its name from neighboring Rice University, and the Texas Medical Center lies just to the southeast. Faculty appointments, residencies and hospital positions bring families in from other states and send others out, often on fixed start dates. Our long distance movers in West University Place, TX build the schedule backward from that date, so loading, transit and delivery fit the calendar you have.
Arriving families usually look at West U for its public schools. The city is zoned to West University Elementary, Pershing Middle and Lamar High, an International Baccalaureate school. That makes summer the heaviest season for interstate moves into and out of 77005, and it overlaps our own busiest months from May through August. Booking early gives you the widest choice of load dates.
Getting a full-size truck onto a West U block takes planning. Streets are residential and often lined with parked cars, and the city's noise ordinance limits loud work to set daytime hours on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We confirm truck placement, carry distance and timing in advance. If your new house is a rebuild still under construction, storage can hold your shipment until it is ready.
Line up your Texas Medical Center or Rice start date first, then pick a load day with a few buffer days for delivery.Ship a second vehicle through RunBuggyOne so you only drive one car out of West University Place.Ask for a virtual walkthrough if you are still out of state; it lets us quote the flat rate without a visit.Keep school records, passports and medical files in a box that travels with you, not on the truck.

FAQ's
Answers for families moving to or from West University Place across state lines.
Yes. We handle moves both into and out of West U from anywhere in the continental United States. The same dedicated-truck approach applies either way: one crew, one truck, no transfers and no third-party warehouse on most long-distance jobs.
Long-distance moves are quoted as a flat rate that locks in once you confirm. A 15% deposit reserves your dates. There are no hidden fees, and stairs or long carries at either house are not extra. Specialty items are quoted upfront.
We plan the load date around the delivery you need and keep you informed through a dispatcher's direct line during transit. If the new home is not ready, overnight, week-long or month-to-month storage bridges the gap.
Yes. Through our partner RunBuggyOne we arrange door-to-door car shipping anywhere in the U.S., so a second vehicle can arrive at your new address without anyone driving it there. It also saves wear on your car and frees you to fly ahead and meet the moving truck at the new house.
As early as you can. May through August is our busiest window, and school-calendar moves from West University Place cluster in those months. We suggest at least several weeks of lead time for interstate summer dates, and three or more weeks for any holiday weekend.
Thank you for considering us for your moving needs. We will get back to you during normal business hours.
