Sending a Wisdom High graduate off to campus, bringing a student home for summer, or moving into an Uptown apartment near HCC's West Loop Campus? We handle small student moves with the same care as full households.
Student moves
Campus to Uptown
Many Galleria-area families have students zoned to Tanglewood Middle School and Margaret Long Wisdom High School, formerly Robert E. Lee, and graduation brings a wave of fall move-ins. Within Texas, Tera Moving serves greater Houston plus the Austin, San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth areas, and we handle long-distance moves anywhere in the continental U.S. That covers most of the campuses Uptown students head to, whether a dorm across town or an apartment out of state.
Closer to home, Houston Community College's West Loop Campus sits at 5601 West Loop South, just off the I-610 corridor that frames Uptown's eastern edge. Students taking classes there often rent in the Galleria area's apartment communities, which means service elevator bookings and lease-start dates matter even for a one-bedroom. We plan those small apartment moves the same way we plan larger ones.
Dorm move-in days on any campus are crowded, with check-in lines, unloading zones and limited time at the curb. Before your date, check the school's move-in schedule and any rules about where outside movers can park or unload. Share that with us and we will time the drive and crew so your student is unloaded, furniture is assembled and the truck is clear before the next family pulls up.
FAQ's
Questions parents and students ask about college moves from The Galleria area.
Yes. We serve the Austin, San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth areas and handle long-distance moves anywhere in the continental U.S. Out-of-state student moves are quoted at a flat rate with a 15% deposit, while moves within Houston are hourly.
Yes. We offer overnight, week-long and month-to-month storage. A common plan is picking up from campus housing in May, storing through the summer, and delivering to a new apartment in August when the next lease begins.
Local moves have a two-hour minimum, and the deposit equals that minimum. It is fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead. Beyond the minimum, you pay only for actual time worked.
Yes. We move students into apartments around the Galleria area regularly. We provide a certificate of insurance if the property requires one, at no extra cost, and plan around the building's elevator reservation. If the lease starts on a weekday while classes are in session, an early-morning slot lets your student load in and still make an afternoon class.
May through August and the last weekend of each month are our busiest periods. We recommend booking at least a week ahead, and earlier for late-August weekends when many campuses open their residence halls.
Thank you for considering us for college move in or out needs. We will get back to you during normal business hours.
