About Cross Creek Ranch
Cross Creek Ranch opened in spring 2008, originally designed and developed by Trendmaker Homes. Johnson Development Corp. acquired the community in 2012, and it has kept growing since, earning a place among the nation's 50 top-selling master-planned communities in 2024. It covers about 3,200 acres in Fulshear, in Fort Bend County, with the ZIP code 77441. The community lies west of the Grand Parkway, with FM 1093 and the Westpark Tollway along its north side and Texas Heritage Parkway serving its growing retail corridor anchored by H-E-B.
Flewellen Creek runs through the middle of Cross Creek Ranch. It was restored to a natural state and acts as the community's ecological backbone. It also splits school zoning: homes east of the creek are zoned to Katy ISD, including Tompkins and Jordan high schools, while homes west of the creek are zoned to Lamar CISD and Fulshear High School. For families, that can decide which side of the creek they move to, and it sets the timing for many summer moves.
Outdoor space is a big part of the community. There are more than 400 acres of lakes, including the 50-acre Polishing Pond, along with more than 60 miles of trails, Adventure Island Water Park, the Flewellen Creek Pool, a fitness center, a disc golf course and a dog park. Homes are mostly single-family, with townhomes also available, built by multiple builders. Like most master-planned communities, the area relies on municipal utility districts and HOA rules that can affect moving trucks, parking and bulk trash.
