Roads shape every move out here. Katy Hockley Road and FM 362 run north and south across the prairie, the Grand Parkway forms its eastern edge, and many homes sit off two-lane roads without curbs or shoulders. Routes near the Coastal Prairie Conservancy's preserves can be affected by repaving, as recent work on Mathis and Berry Roads showed. We check your route before move day, and we plan where the truck can turn around if your road is narrow.
The land itself matters too. The prairie absorbs heavy rainfall that would otherwise rush toward Houston, which helps the region but can leave ditches full and yards soft after a storm. New construction lots may not have finished landscaping, so mud is common. Yes. Moves between Katy, Cypress, Hockley-area properties and anywhere else in greater Houston are local moves billed hourly. The two-hour minimum applies, and you pay only for the time the crew actually works.
Yes. We move workshop benches, tool chests, shelving and packed shed contents along with your household items. Let us know what is in outbuildings during the estimate so we can plan crew size and truck space. Very large machinery may need a specialist.
No. Long carries and stairs are not extra. If the truck cannot get close to your front door because of a narrow drive or soft ground, our crew carries items the extra distance at the same hourly rate.
Yes. We move gun safes, including on stairs. Gun safes may carry a small specialty handling fee, which we quote before move day. Tell us the safe's size and weight and where it needs to go in your new home.
Mid-week, mid-month dates usually have the most availability. May through August and the last weekend of every month are our busiest times. Booking at least a week ahead is a good rule, and we take last-minute moves when we can.
