About Spring
Spring is not a city. It is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Harris County, inside Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction, and the Spring name also covers part of southern Montgomery County. The area traces back to an 1838 trading post on Spring Creek, German farm families who arrived in the 1840s, and the International and Great Northern Railroad, which reached town in 1871. The 2020 census counted 62,559 people in the CDP alone, and many more live at Spring addresses beyond its boundary.
Because Spring addresses span several school districts, families should check before they buy or sign a lease: Spring ISD serves the CDP, while Klein ISD and Conroe ISD serve Spring-addressed neighborhoods outside it. Interstate 45 runs along the community, the Hardy Toll Road ends at I-45 near the Harris-Montgomery county line, and the Grand Parkway (SH 99) crosses the north side. FM 2920, Spring-Cypress Road and Louetta Road carry most local traffic between neighborhoods.
Old Town Spring, at Spring-Cypress and Hardy roads, keeps restored early-1900s buildings filled with shops and restaurants, including Wunsche Bros. Café, built in 1902. Nearby are Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown, Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, and the Spring Creek Greenway trails along the county line. To the west, City Place (formerly Springwoods Village) holds the ExxonMobil and Hewlett Packard Enterprise headquarters, a big reason people relocate here.

No. Spring is unincorporated, sitting in Harris County within Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction, so there is no Spring city government issuing moving permits. We offer local moves for houses, apartment moves, long-distance moves anywhere in the continental U.S., and commercial moves for offices, retail and warehouses. Yes. The Spring name covers part of southern Montgomery County as well as Harris County, and we serve both sides of Spring Creek. We also cover The Woodlands, Creekside Park, Tomball and Klein, so moves between those areas are handled as local jobs.
Call 832-390-4839 or email support@teramovingservices.com. We respond the same business day and can do a virtual walkthrough for larger homes. Local moves are billed hourly with a deposit equal to the two-hour minimum, and long-distance moves receive a flat rate with a 15% deposit.
