About the village
Sterling Ridge was the seventh village of The Woodlands. It opened in 1999, the year the community marked its 25th anniversary, which is where the name comes from. It sits on the western edge of the township along FM 2978, in ZIP code 77382, with Woodlands Parkway and Research Forest Drive as main routes in. Home sizes run from under 2,000 to more than 8,500 square feet, so we plan crew and truck size around the specific house rather than a village average.
The village includes Carlton Woods, a gated enclave that was first planned as its own village, along with the Gary Player Signature golf course. Gated streets mean we coordinate access with you in advance so the truck is not held at the entrance. Some neighborhoods, like May Valley, are zoned to Magnolia ISD rather than Conroe ISD, a detail worth checking if the school calendar is driving your move date.
Daily errands center on Woodlands Parkway. The Sterling Ridge Village Center holds grocery, pharmacy, restaurants and services, though its longtime Kroger closed in May 2025. The George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library and the South Montgomery County YMCA are both in the village, along with parks such as Terramont, Artist Grove and Cranebrook. Sterling Ridge also has its own park and ride for commuters headed toward Houston.
